Too much stress is not good simply because too much stress can end up with stress controlling your life and not the other way around. We are well aware that stress is a risk factor to several medical conditions including heart problems. <p>Stress and coping should come hand in hand. In addition to that there should be a balance between the two. When one’s social and personal life gets affected because of stress then that is no longer good stress. If such pattern continues it will result to chronic stress. To effectively manage chronic stress one has to learn several stress coping skills. These stress coping skills will certainly reduce the negative effects of chronic stress.</p>

Chronic stress is the kind of stress that lasts longer than a week. This is the kind of stress we need to keep us going when we feel down or when we feel too lazy to move. Eustress is motivational stress. However, when stress goes beyond the normal and acceptable limits then that is the bad stress. Bad stress is too much stress. This is the kind of stress that leaves us tired and burned out and the kind of stress that can cause health problems. If we let this kind of stress control our lives the next thing we knew is that we are already disengaging ourselves from reality and from society. To battle this kind of stress there are certain stress strategies that you can do.</p>
<p>Stress strategies are way to deal with stress. When asked the question how to deal with stress, the obvious answer is stress strategies. Stress is a part of life, admit it or not. In fact it is hard to go through life without experiencing some degree of stress. That is why when the level of stress goes overboard it is time for us to do something about it. There are a lot of stress strategies that you can do, but this doesn’t mean totally eliminating the stressors.</p>
<p>Well, can you eliminate work totally so that you won’t feel stressed? You can’t can you, well that is because some of the stressors are essential. What you can do though is reducing the stress levels. First of all if you are having too many works to do, you must learn to prioritize. Work on those papers that have shorter deadlines. Next is make a schedule, this will guide you as you go through your workload. Lastly, do not take your work home as much as possible. Remember that your home should be your place of relaxation and not work.</p>
<p>Some stress strategies will also require you to do some form of exercise. Some of these exercises can even help you regain concentration and focus, like doing yoga and meditation. Other types of exercise can help you vent out anger and frustration like kickboxing, karate and even boxing. Running, jogging, cycling are also great ways to relieve yourself of stress. Stress strategies are formulated in order to help those individuals who are constantly suffering from stress.</p>
<p>Stress strategies are helpful, especially if you are beginning to feel the ill effects of constant stress. Keep in mind that leaving stress alone is not the best way to deal with it because the best way to deal with stress is through the help of these stress strategies.</p>

<p><span>Among the more common causes for chronic stress includes excessive alcohol consumption, taking tranquilizers as well as overeating. It logically follows therefore that to prevent chronic stress a person must cut down on alcohol consumption, avoid popping tranquilizers and refrain from overeating. There are ways to prevent chronic stress, but it’s important to first understand what stress is and how it affects your body and your emotions. The body has a built-in “fight or flight” response mechanism whenever there is a threat or impending danger. Chronic stress occurs when this mechanism fails to function properly and has no “off switch”. Your system continues to behave as if there is an immediate danger even though there is none.</p>
<p>Chronic stress causes your body to remain in a state of tension, which would then send signals to the brain to help you prepare to either run away from the danger or to fight it. However, these physiological processes can continue to manifest even after the point of real emergency, thus causing health risks. When the endocrine system continuously secretes adrenaline, this can eventually be metabolized as cholesterol.</p>

<p align="justify">Change Is A Major Reason</p>
<p align="justify">One of the more common causes of chronic stress is change. Change can make a person feel much stressed as is witnessed in the case of a student about to appear for an examination. This stress might last for the entire year or it could only occur prior to the examination. In the former case it is chronic stress while in the latter case it is merely stress.</p>
<p align="justify">Being physically separated from home is another cause of chronic stress and the same is the case when a person is separated from their close friends and family members. In a similar vein, personal loss and bereavement are other causes of chronic stress. When a close relative passes away it can trigger chronic stress since the loss may be too hard to cope with.</p>
<p align="justify">There is nothing quite as bad as not knowing what is going to take place in the future. This uncertainty about the future is another cause of chronic stress. Not being sure about holding on to your job or succeeding in your career can also lead to chronic stress.</p>
<p align="justify">By understanding the causes of chronic stress it is hoped that some of the serious consequences can be dealt with and the situation pought under control. Other causes of chronic stress include health problems, emotional problems, the environment as well as your job. Even a social situation can become a cause of chronic stress, especially when a person begins to feel very lonely or is in deep financial trouble or is being discriminated on account of their gender, race or religion.</p>
<p align="justify">Chronic illnesses too can lead development of chronic stress and typically, a person with a heart problem or a diabetic or even someone suffering from arthritis can develop chronic stress. Even getting emotionally upset can lead to chronic stress and low-esteem in particular is a major reason why people develop chronic stress.</p>
<p align="justify">The environment you live in can also make you suffer from chronic stress, especially when you are living in a dangerous neighborhood or where there is a lot of crime taking place.</p>
